WIPER ARM CONVERSION

These are instructions regarding replacement of wiper arm from U3820A-N to U3821A-N. Your current wiper motor has athreaded tapered shaft on it and the wiper arm for this style shaft is nolonger available. The wiper arm that we offer to replace the original requiresa drum shaft. The new supplied wiper arm has an adapter with it. This adapter needsto be drilled out to 21/64” so it can fit over the threaded shaft. The adapterslides on the threaded shaft and needs to be welded to the shaft. A before andafter picture is below. Prior to welding it is a good idea to shut off the mainbattery disconnect. You can remove the wiper motor if you wish. The drum willfit through the hole in the firewall but the grommet will have to be cut in onespot. After the grommet is cut it can be installed after the wiper motor isreinstalled.
